Celebrating Pasca

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, the Jekenishen Church held a grand celebration of Pasca at Maunganidze Village in Birchenough Bridge. The event drew thousands of church members and notable dignitaries, highlighting the church’s dedication to community and development.

  • Hon. Misheck Mugadza, Minister of State for Manicaland Province

  • Cde Dr. Davison Todson Gomo, ZANU PF Commissariat Director for Research, Strategy, and Liaison, also responsible for Party Affiliates

The entire leadership hierarchy of the Jekenishen Church, led by Archbishop Dr. Phillip Pferedzai, was present in full force, underscoring the importance of the event.

Commitment to Ethics and Development

Archbishop Dr. Rocky Moyo reiterated the CCA’s commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and adhering to the laws of the land. He emphasized the vital role of indigenous churches in supporting the government’s efforts toward economic and social development. Dr. Moyo urged the church to invest in building schools, clinics, and other projects to foster community development. He also spoke against gender-based violence and early marriages, reinforcing the church’s stance on social issues.

Government Projects and Support

Hon. Minister Misheck Mugadza detailed the various projects the government has completed and those currently underway in Manicaland Province. The most significant of these is the proposed construction of an airport in Mutare, which is expected to spur further development in the region. Minister Mugadza encouraged the church to continue its collaboration with the government and announced a commitment to sinking a borehole at the shrine to support congregants during large gatherings.
