CCA South Africa Chapter Hosts Successful Ecumenical Religious Clergy Conference

On the 28th and 29th of March 2025, the Council for Churches in Africa (CCA) South Africa Chapter hosted the much-anticipated Ecumenical Religious Clergy Conference (ERCC). This leadership conference was designed specifically for pastors, bishops, and church leaders, providing an opportunity for them to come together, grow, and reflect on their call to serve in the Kingdom of God.

The conference was a resounding success, with numerous church leaders from across South Africa gathering to engage in powerful sessions and deepen their understanding of their roles in the church. This event offered a platform for fellowship, spiritual growth, and the exchange of ideas among Christian leaders who are committed to advancing God’s work in the world.

Powerful Messages and Teachings

The conference featured a keynote address by President Rocky Moyo, who shared his vision for church leadership in Africa and the significance of unity within the body of Christ. His words resonated deeply with the attendees, inspiring them to continue their work with renewed purpose and commitment.

A highlight of the conference was the powerful message delivered by Guest Speaker Apostle Levell Thompson from America. Apostle Thompson shared his personal story and journey of getting to know Christ on a deeper level, emphasizing a message that truly touched the hearts of everyone present: Christianity is not a white man’s religion, but rather a relationship that every human being must develop with their Creator.

Apostle Thompson’s testimony was not only personal but also transformative. He reminded the audience that many before us endured great struggles, pain, and even torture to give us the gospel we now have. The gospel, he explained, is meant to be given freely and received willingly. His words challenged the leaders to reflect on their own journey with Christ and their calling to spread the gospel, no matter the cost.

Looking Ahead

The Ecumenical Religious Clergy Conference was truly a milestone event in the South Africa Chapter’s mission to equip and empower church leaders for the work ahead. As the conference drew to a close, the excitement and anticipation for the next steps in the journey were palpable.

It was announced that another ERCC conference, complete with a graduation ceremony for participants, will take place in May 2025. This upcoming event promises to be even bigger and more impactful, providing an opportunity for further spiritual growth and leadership development.

As we reflect on the success of this year’s conference, we celebrate the unity and commitment that was shared among the leaders who attended. The ERCC has once again proven to be a vital platform for nurturing church leaders, and we look forward to the continued impact it will have on the body of Christ in Africa and beyond.

We are excited for what the future holds and continue to pray for God’s guidance as we prepare for the next steps in this journey. Sibongile Nkosi—we thank God for the many lives touched and the powerful transformations that are taking place through these conferences.
