The Role of Compassionate Hearts
Humanitarian work is carried out by individuals and organizations with compassionate hearts and a deep sense of empathy for those in need. As it says in Galatians 6:10 (KJV), “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” This scripture underscores the Christian imperative to extend love and assistance to all people, particularly those who are marginalized, oppressed, or in crisis.
Why We Do It: A Call to Serve
We engage in humanitarian work as a response to God’s call to love our neighbors as ourselves and to fulfill the biblical mandate to care for the poor, the oppressed, and the marginalized. In Matthew 25:35-36 (KJV), Jesus says, “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” Our commitment to humanitarian work is grounded in the belief that serving others is a sacred duty and a manifestation of our faith in action.
